Examinations

Our veterinarian’s most important diagnostic tool is the physical examination of your pet. A complete physical exam includes looking at the patient from head to toe. In this process the veterinarian will examine the eyes, ears, mouth, check the heart and lungs for any abnormalities, check the joints for swelling or arthritis, check the skin for lesions and parasites, feel the abdomen for abnormalities, etc. There is a lot of information that the doctor can obtain from a simple exam.

In order for your pet to obtain prescription medications, including some parasite prevention, we must have a valid client-patient-veterinarian relationship. Meaning that your pet must be examined by the veterinarian and be seen on a yearly basis.

As your pet ages many body systems will begin aging as well. We recommend senior pet screenings after the age of 7 years. The screening includes in-house lab work to screen organ functions, measuring blood pressure, dietary recommendations and joint assessments. Our goal is to provide your pet a long, comfortable life.
